Roberto Luongo Injury
Posted by Mother Pucker on November 23rd, 2008Terrible news last night for the Vancouver Canucks, and possibly Team Canada when Roberto Luongo went down with a left groin injury. There hasn’t been any detail released yet, but initial reports are that it doesn’t look good, and he could be out for quite some time.
This couldn’t come at a worse time, as the Canucks are coming home from a brilliant road trip, and have gone something like 7-0-2 in their last nine. I’m also sure that Steve Yzerman is cringing and eagerly waiting for the doc’s results today as he is no doubt concerned about the Team Canada tending situation now with both Marty and Roberto down and out. If you hear more on this before I do, be sure to update us in the comments.

Sorry, Team Canada, but I’m more worried about my fantasy team without Luongo. That’s my karma biting me in the ass for starting him on my roster against my Penguins. Hopefully things won’t be too bad for him. It sounds similar to Fleury’s injury, and he’s expected to be out 3 – 6 weeks.
I haven’t heard anything official yet, but it looks like Luongo is going to be out for at least two months.
i think vancouver is relying on luongo too much, and the devils were relying too much on brodeur… maybe this is a hit on the head for both teams.
Luongo is now known as the best goalie in the NHL
Now known?
