NHL Pre-Season Games on TV
Tweet Posted by Mother Pucker on September 22nd, 2008Well it looks like we are finally going to get a nice taste of the NHL pre-season with three games on the tube tonight. First up are the Senators in New York to face the Rangers, then the Sabres in Toronto to battle the Leafs, and finally the Canucks in Edmonton to take on the Oilers. The games are spread out across MSG, Sportsnet Ontario, and Sportsnet Pacific, so hopefully you have your full sports package, or NHL Center Ice (has that even started yet?). Here are further details on the games:
- Senators vs. Rangers – 7pm EST – MSG
- Sabres vs. Leafs – 7:30pm EST – Sportsnet Ontario
- Canucks vs. Oilers – 9pm EST – Sportsnet Pacific
I know its just the pre-season but I’m pretty excited to be able to watch these games. Of course you get to see the kids that are trying to prove themselves by hitting and trying to fight everything in sight, and then you get the proven talent skating circles around the wanna-be try-outers. If the Canucks/Oilers rookie tilt from last week is any indication of how this game will go, I predict about 50 minutes in penalties.

Hmmm no ice hockey over here yet – not getting center ice and NASN (our american sports channels) as would like to have some cash left!!
Are those channels expensive? Where are you?
It probably depends on your provider. I have Dish Network (US) and for me, the NHL Center Ice Package was $159 for the whole season (doesn’t look like it covers pre-season games), and all the regional sports net channels are $5.99/month.
Do you live in the states, or do you just have an american dish getting a feed in Canada?
And 71 PIMs last night in the Canucks Oilers game… can’t believe I was off by 21! haha
I also thought “aw, it’s only pre-season” as well until I watched Gonchar hobble off the ice Saturday night.
I’m in GB – station is about $25 dollars a month (get some other stuff as well) and get a load of games. Can get Center Ice on comp buts its not the same
