Ottawa Senators Gerber & The Dark Side
Tweet Posted by Mother Pucker on September 25th, 2008Looks like Ottawa Senators goalie Martin Gerber has been wrangled by the dark side, and his real head has been replaced with this Darth Vader mask. Hopefully the poor little Martin Vader won’t get his right hand slashed off, or get burned by NHL shooters as badly as the original Darth did… Anyway, its hard to tell, and it will take seeing this thing on TV or something to tell if its really a good job or not. In the mean time, I’ll just sit here wishing that instead of Martin Vader of today, that Garth Snow had been sucked into the dark side back in his day…
Is it just me, or does that thing hardly look like darth vaders mask? I think the helmet should have gone to the top of his cage, and then it could have been a little more realistic. The eyes way up there look stupid.
Yeah I agree that would have been a better way to do it. The first time I looked at it I was like “wtf is this?” until I read farther down and saw that it was supposed to be Darth Vader. Probably wouldn’t have been able to guess from this photo alone.
Personally, I think it looks great. Hard to tell if it will translate on TV though. But kudos for doing something original. Maybe he should have had Vader’s complete body on each side w/ a Sens logo on his chest. Sens ownership might not go for that though.
