Heroin Beer Served in NHL Arenas
Posted by Mother Pucker on October 9th, 2008What is it with the heroin beer served in NHL arenas? When I first started attending games at an age where I was allowed to buy a beer or six, I thought that there was something fishy with how the beer a) tasted and b) caused you to go completely bonkers.
I wasn’t sure if it was just because I was so excited to be at a game, and therefore my beer crushing enzymes were busy working on other things, but slowly this phenomenon has grown way past me, and is affecting hundreds of thousands of hockey fans across North America.
I did some google-ing around and found that Edmonton and Calgary supposedly have the highest quantity of heroin in their beers. The Urban Dictionary even defines heroin beer as “Beer served at the Pengrowth Saddledome” with an awesome quote of “I never really understood why they called it heroin beer…..before I knew it I was taking my shirt off and swing it over my head.”
Anyone dare to share their heroin beer story?
alright im blaming you as to why they stop beer sales at the mid point of the second period now….. keep your shirt on big sexy….

Unfortunately, all I have access to at games in Chicago are Miller and Budweiser products (UGH). At least when I go to games in Detroit they have the good sense to serve Molson.
I have yet to take my shirt off and swing it over my head, but that’s probably because I can’t be talked into buying the Coors Light or Bud Light draft options they have at the American Airlines Center here in Dallas. For $6-7 a pop. Oh! I can buy a Shiner (which is great), but it costs the same, and all they do is pour it from a bottle into a cup. So, I get 4 oz. less, and I think THAT is up to $8 this season. It’s enough to make a grown man cry. I guess I’ll be sticking to the soda options for $5 a cup…at least you get 32ozs.

Next game you’ll have to give it a try. Of course you don’t get free heroin when you buy it out of a bottle or can, so make sure you get the stuff that comes from your arena’s old rusty pipes and taps!

Just because the Bud/Miller is terrible doesn’t mean I don’t break down and drink it anyways.
So you’ve had it before then right? No heroin or crack included in that beer?
Seems like regular beer to me. It makes me talk a lot of shit to Blackhawks fans, but I would be doing that regardless of whether I had beer or not.
im from Etown, and i will testify that heroin beers are alive and well in Rexxal, went to the San Jose game other night. Boo’ed Heatley all night and got fuckin drunk, woke up in morning puked my guts out. Was with abunch of girls, and they took pictures of the game/night…i dont remember any of them!
