Getzlaf In and Carter Out

No love for Jeff Carter from Hockey Canada the day after Valentines Day, but I don’t care as I think the selection of Ryan Getzlaf is a better one for Team Canada.

Some will argue that Getzlaf might not be ready, and his performance against the Edmonton Oilers last night was exactly that, a two goal performance against the worst team in the league, but I still think he is a great addition / subtraction / addition to the team.

So what is your reaction if you’re Carter? Slam Team Canada? Or thank them for the opportunity and realize that this year may not have been yours? Look forward to a possible shot in 2014? Whatever it is, I think he should be happy that he was considered and prove it from here on that he should have been the better choice.

Regardless of what Carter does for the rest of the season, if will all be overshadowed if Getzlaf has a top notch tournament… which starts in T minus ONE DAY! Can’t wait!
