Blackhawks Fan Wins a Million Dollars
Posted by Mother Pucker on January 20th, 2009I still can’t imagine how this must have felt for the lucky fan that won a million dollars at the Blackhawks/Wild game last night. According to the Hawks website, they are awarding a cool mil to one lucky fan in attendance if the Hawks score at exactly the 10:00 mark of the second period.
Last night this happened when Martin Havlat got one past Backstrom at, you guessed it, 10:00 of the second period.
I wonder if the fans even realized what had just happened when the goal was scored? I would have probably forgotten about it, cheered for the goal, and then moments later been like, “heyyyy, isn’t there something about 10:00 that I’m forgetting?”
Anyway, congrautlations to that lucky fan for the massive win! I’ve been trying to win the $40,000 50/50 draw here for the longest time, but with this kinda prize pool it makes me think that I should relocate to Chicago.
And whats with this chick you ask? Well, I did a search for “million dollars” on Google images, and she came up on the first page. Fitting? I think so.

WOW!
Oh and the million dollar thing is cool too…
Could you imagine! On the flip side could you imagine missing this game and giving your ticket to a buddy, or scalping it before hand…

too bad he just lost 30% percent of it.. damn taxes
Is that what its like in the states? Wouldn’t it somehow be worse here?
Yeah, too bad… That’s rough! Only $700K left for simply showing up to a game.
oh canada, where lottery winnings are tax free.
Wow, and I thought *I* was lucky.
I went to game 7 of the 1995-96 Western Conference semis between Detroit and St. Louis – the one where Steve Yzerman scored his infamous 2OT goal from St. Louis’ blue line to end the series. Prior to the game, a rep from the Red Wings came up and asked if I had a ticket for the seat I was sitting in. I said yes, and he told me that I had been randomly selected to win a DirecTV receiver/dish and a programming package. I even got jumbo-tron coverage when they announced it during the game.
The guy who sold us the tickets, thinking the series would never go to game 7, was PISSED.
