Bite Your Tongue!
Posted by Mother Pucker on December 1st, 2008I contemplated whether I should bite my own tongue on this one, but what the hell, I better speak out on this as its really bothering me. Yahoo Sports blogger Greg Wyshynski, the self proclaimed Puck Daddy, has to date been a decent source of non stop links and stories in relation to the NHL and hockey in general. I subscribed to his RSS feed, if only to skim through quickly in hopes of finding a needle of interesting info among the barrage of information.
Today that has changed though as I have unsubscribed from Puck Daddy. It’s unfortunate really when someone who is backed by a high profile site (Yahoo!) has to stoop to such levels as to promote a website featuring someone blogging from jail, and someone else who has proclaimed himself as a hockey god, when we all know that he has done very, VERY wrong things in the past.
I’m not the only one that feels that this website in question (that I will not link to, nor mention the names of those involved) should not be linked to nor even mentioned. Toronto Sports Media posted an interesting article yesterday about this very topic, and after reading it I have to say that its important to choose where you get your hockey information, or any information for that matter.
So shame on you Greg Wyshynski and the rest of the high profile bloggers that jumped on the bandwagon and provided a link to this embarrassment of a website.

Hey Mother:
I agree with you. I think it is important that we don’t needlessly put $ in this scumbags pocket. There are way too many other great sites out there covering hockey… Keep up the good work.

I like telling Wysh he stinks far too much to unsubscribe.
We should be doing everything we can to not give Frost any traffic.
it’s a news story.
how’s is this different than tuning into On the Fly, TSN, etc. whenever there’s an incident with Sean Avery?
It’s putting a spotlight on something that can polarize people, but also be an interesting (while somewhat) disturbing news story.
You kind of defeat the purpose of not drawing attention to the story by even calling out someone else who wrote about it. Other readers are going to be driven to find out what the problem is and will end up going to the site in question anyways.
