All 30 NHL Teams in Action Today

Well its going to be mayhem tonight, October 25, 2008, for hockey fans as all 30 NHL teams are in action, in what the NHL is calling Super Saturday. For some reason I can’t remember how often this happens, but this is the first time I can remember it in a long time. Note to executives that are looking for a way to kick start the season? Have Super Saturday as the opening night of the NHL regular season. THAT would get peoples attention!

Anyway, lets get to it with tonight’s TV schedule:

  • Ducks/Canadiens @ 7:00 PM ET on CBC, RDS (HD), KDOC
  • Hurricanes/Islanders @ 7:00 PM ET on FSN-S, MSG PLUS (HD)
  • Penguins/Rangers @ 7:00 PM ET on FSN-P, MSG (HD)
  • Devils/Flyers @ 7:00 PM ET on MSG PLUS 2, CSN-PH (HD)
  • Sharks/Lightning @ 7:30 PM ET on SUN
  • Blue Jackets/Wild @ 8:00 PM ET on FSN-N (HD)
  • Capitals/Stars @ 8:00 PM ET on CSN-DC, FSN-SW
  • Red Wings/Blackhawks @ 8:30 PM ET on FSN-D, WGN (HD)
  • Panthers/Blues @ 8:30 PM ET on FSN-F, KPLR

The Kings and Predators also play tonight, but apparently its not televised I guess with this many games going on they had to jam one of the markets out? Unfortunate for Kings and Preds fans.

Since we’re going to be treated to such an awesome day of hockey, may as well throw some predictions out there to add even more flair to the night. I’m not going to give any reasoning for my predictions, but here are my predicted winners: Boston, Ottawa, Montreal, NY Islanders, Pittsburgh, New Jersey, San Jose, Minnesota, Dallas, Detroit, St. Louis, Buffalo, Edmonton, Calgary, LA.

There you have it folks! Go out and get your sports select or your favourite sports betting service rolling! (But remember, I don’t claim any of this to be based on anything that would cause a guaranteed win or loss or anything… so play at your own risk ;) ) Anyone else care to add their own predictions for tonights mayhem?
