Ok well not quite, but pretty damn close. 20km from the border close! Anyway, I found this awesome stats site that has a map with birthplaces of past and present NHL players. Go have a look and see where you can find the weirdest birthplace for a NHL player.

My faves so far are Mogilny, Grigorijs Pantelejevs, Andrei Nikolishin, & Zac Boyer.
