2010 Olympic Hockey Jerseys

Just came across a post on The Hockey News where they rank the 2010 Olympic hockey jerseys. Interestingly enough Canada gets trashed, but as I’ll reveal later, you’ll see that it was likely a last minute decision to knock them back that far. Anyway, here is how they ranked them:

1. Sweden

2. Germany

3. Slovakia

4. USA

5. Latvia

6. Czech Republic

7. Norway

8. Russia

9. Switzerland

10. Canada

11. Finland

12. China

13. Belarus

So what’s the problem here? Yeah there are some nice Jerseys this year, but how can you rank Norway ahead of Russia and Canada? And Slovakia ahead of the USA? All three of those deserve to rank higher. Oh well it wasn’t my list so I can’t really complain… but what I can point out is that Canada at 10 was an obvious last minute decision by THN. How so? Go to their site or mine and save the pics of the jerseys to your hard drive. Notice anything strange? Yeah they all go in order number wise until you get to Russia/Switzerland/Canada. How come Russia at #8 is file number 9, Switzerland at #9 is file number 8, and Canada at #10 is file number 9? So you’re saying that prior to this last minute jockeying you had Russia behind those Switzerland medic jerseys? Yeah this list sucks. I’ll come out with my own version tomorrow.
