Download NHL Stanley Cup Hockey

Posted by Mother Pucker on December 25th, 2009

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you're all having a wonderful day with your family and friends. It was unrealistic for me to go around to all of your houses and drop off hockey related presents, so why not give you this online freebie instead? If you were a fan of the classic NHL Stanley Cup Hockey game for the SNES, way back in 1993, then you're in luck because it's now available as a free download at Brothersoft. The download is PC compatible, but I have a mac so can't take a shot at it. Let me know how it is and if it brings back any memories of you in your unfinished basement playing on a

Score Mobile iPhone App

Posted by Mother Pucker on December 23rd, 2009

Ok before I go too far I think there might be a Score Mobile app for the blackberry too as I've seen a guy at the hockey game beside me checking scores on his perl... or maybe it's just a web version? Anyway, have some good news. This app is pretty kick ass to say that least, and today after contacting The Score I learned thta they will be launching a new section sometime this week that will be covering the World Junior Hockey Championship. Thanks for providing a kick ass app, and bringing in the sports and events that are important to us! On the iPhone head over to the app store, and blackber

Flames: Twas the game before Xmas

Posted by Mother Pucker on December 23rd, 2009

Found this over at a Calgary Flames Forum and figured some of you may enjoy it: Twas the game before Christmas, when all through the Dome Not a player was resting, not even Jarome. The skates were all hung by player stalls with care, In hopes that Lord Stanley soon would be there. The fans were nestled all dressed up in reds, While visions from heroin beer danced in their heads. Tara McCool in her ‘kerchief, and I with a drink, Had just settled in to watch the Blues sink.

Well congrats to Martin Brodeur for breaking Terry Sawchuck's all time shutout record of 103 last night by notching his 104th shutout against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Seen on the left is Brodeur celebrating on the New Jersey shore... just kidding, saw that on twitter and couldn't resist using it ;)

Carrie Underwood is Engaged

Posted by Mother Pucker on December 21st, 2009

So what you say? Well you should care because Carrie Underwood is going to be getting hitched to Ottawa Senators star Mike Fisher. I guess Fisher popped the question on Sunday while with his family... When these two hooked up it was like someone stepped on my heart because Carrie is in my top 3 favourites right now, and the thought of her with a hockey player just crushed me. But then I thought about this a little more, and by that I mean as I type I'm thinking this stuff up

Worst Jersey Foul Ever? Thumbnail

Worst Jersey Foul Ever?

Posted by Mother Pucker on December 20th, 2009

I may have been lucky enough to see the worst jersey foul ever last night at the Capitals/Oilers game at Rexall. I wasn't too surprised how many Ovechkin jerseys were in the crowd, but this guy that sat two seats to my left took the cake for the most ridiculous.Anyone recognize that jersey? Yes you're right, it's the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos. With Ovechkin's name and number on it? This is so wrong on so many levels. Wrong city, wrong colors, wrong sport, wrong country, you nam

Free Dallas Stars Snuggie! Thumbnail

Free Dallas Stars Snuggie!

Posted by Mother Pucker on December 15th, 2009

Isn't the Snuggie supposed to be the laughing stock of pretty much everything? Well regardless, the Dallas Stars have decided to give away this elusive item to die hard fans that buy tickets to the league's three biggest draws... ;) But come on seriously? How many people in Dallas need to be sitting there on their couch with a snuggie on? If the flames started doing something like this it wouldn't be as hilarious, but come on Dallas. Give away Stars' branded oscillati

Welcoming Google to 2002

Posted by Mother Pucker on December 7th, 2009

Well I just have to welcome Google and it's newfound love for QR Codes to 2002, I mean 2009. Yeah this thing was prevalent from around 2002 back when I lived in Japan, and I guess it's finally going to take off over here. What is it? It's a funky image that your mobile phone can read and decode to give you all sorts of information. What's the one on the left? Give it a try with your favourite QR reader (like QuickMark on the iPhone) and you'll see it's a link to this website

Your Name in the Hockey Hall of Fame

Posted by Mother Pucker on December 1st, 2009

Ever wanted your name in the Hockey Hall of Fame but knew that you were nowhere near good enough at hockey? Well this has to be the EASIEST way that you're going to get there! A few months ago Pepsi started a contest to figure out what Canada's cheer was going to be, and it was voted on that the "Eh-Oh-Canada-Go!" cheer was the best... I'll have to see it in action to make up my mind on that one. Anyway, that's not important right now. The important thing is gettin

Alexander Ovechkin Knee Suspension

Posted by Mother Pucker on December 1st, 2009

Here I come... WHAM! Ok, word came down this afternoon that Alexander Ovechkin has been suspended for two games for this knee on knee hit. Since the news has come down the whole hockey universe has been talking about it by either saying "2 isn't enough!" or "superstars shouldn't be suspended!" to "he is soooooo dirty!!!" bla bla bla Anyone want my take on it? Yeah I know I'm pretty much talking to myself here so the answer is undoubtedly a resounding no, but
