Thought the Sundin Bullshit was Over?
Just when I thought this Mats Sundin saga had come to the end, I read the following on SportsNet:
“Canucks’ coach Alain Vigneault also revealed at the morning skate that it will be up to Mats Sundin to set a timetable on when he joins the team. Vigneault will treat Sundin’s status like he would with a player returning from a long-term injury. The Swede will dictate when he is ready to play and how much he play when the time arrives.”

Mother Pucker Christmas Shot
Merry Christmas everyone!
What better way to celebrate Christmas than to experiment and have the Mother Pucker shot!?
I had no idea there was a shot named Mother Pucker, but when you look at the list of ingredients you’ll know how it got it’s name.
- 1.5 oz. Vodka
- 1 Splash Club Soda
- 1 oz. Dekuyper Sour Apple Pucker Schnapps
- 1 Splash Lemon Lime soda
Anyone gonna be adventurous enough to try this sour thing? Since I brought it up I’ll have one, but probably no more as that thing looks poisonously sour!
Jason Strudwick vs Daniel Carcillo
Great fight last night between Jason Strudwick and Daniel Carcillo. Carcillo apparently didn’t like the way it went as he kept his yap going for the rest of the game, resulting in two separate unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, and a ten minute misconduct at the end of the game.
Sidney Crosby Cheap Shot
I wonder if he will pull this out at the all star game this year? Brutal!
NHL Mutants
Ever wonder what your favourite NHL player would look like if he was crossed with another random player? I sure haven’t, but regardless there is a new flickr photostream called NHL Mutants that has done just that. Check out Owen Gomez to the left!
So far, Jody Luongo and Raffi Roenick take the cake as being my favorites.

Interview With an NHL Ice Girl
Well it seems that the NHL Ice Girls are quite the hot topic around here, so what better thing to do than have the Mother Pucker interview one of them? I’ve got just that opportunity, and figure that I may as well open the floor to everyone here!
I’m not going to tell who the interview is with, or which team she works for, mainly just to keep team specific questions out of it.
I already have a list of questions put together for her, but I want to let everyone in on this opportunity. As for the questions, feel free to ask pretty much anything. I’ll censor it if its going over the line, but hey, this is Mother Pucker Hockey, not your mom’s newspaper, so let’s have some fun!

There is Hope For All!
Can you imagine being Brett Leonhardt the other night with the Washington Capitals, when he got to fill in as backup for the Caps for about 10 minutes of their game against the Ottawa Senators?
Leonhardt is the Caps website producer, who played division III college hockey, got as close as he is going to get to the NHL by sharing the bench with the likes of Ovechkin and company.
He didn’t see any action, but still I still can’t imagine the feeling he would have had suiting up for the big show when he probably thought he had no hope in hell.
So accept this as my formal application. If any team needs a hockey “website-typer” to suit up and sit on the bench, give me a call!! haha
Sean Avery Resumes Modeling Career
Word is that Sean Avery, formerly of the Dallas Stars, is set to resume his modelling career. Initial reports state that Avery will become Target’s new sock model, replace the Toys R Us giraffe, along with other things. In speaking with his agent, I’ve learned that he may become a poster boy for those back few pages of your favourite smut magazine as well.
Ok in all seriousness, Avery has been turfed by the Dallas Stars, and is now in some sort of limbo. Does this spell the end for the agitator, or will he find another home? Maybe the Rangers want him back? I don’t have any prediction, though I hope he is done, so I want to hear from you. Is this the end for Sean Avery?
